Dresden.

DSCVolley signs Mika Grbavica on diagonal

Dresden. Mika Grbavica moves from Zagreb to Dresden and takes over the diagonal position at DSC. The 20-year-old national player from Croatia received a two-year contract.

Mika will wear jersey number #7 at DSC. Head coach Alexander Waibl said of the signing. „I have been watching Mika for a while. She brings everything that is needed at her position. A great amount of temperament, drive, courage, will to win and on top of that she is definitely predisposed in the defensive elements, which is not something you can say about all diagonal attackers. She is an open, outgoing type and will be a great fit for us.“

The young Croatian has so far played for OK Poreč and the last four years for HAOK Mladost Zagreb. Dresden will thus be her first stop abroad.

„I’m thrilled to get the chance to play for such a successful club like DSC,“ said the 1.91m tall diagonal attacker. „When the request came, I didn’t have to think too much. I dreamed of such an opportunity for a long time and worked for it.“

„I love volleyball and of course I always wanted to become a professional. I will give everything and continue to improve to be able to give the best for my team and the club. I am insanely looking forward to the new season and to the fans in Dresden and I can’t wait for it to start. See you soon!
